About Zadar

Zadar is a beautiful city located on the Adriatic coast of Croatia. Since I arrived I am in love with the city and definitely want to come here again on vacation. I went on a hike and I saw the most beatyful waterfalls I've ever seen. Zadar itself is also very beautiful, the small alleys with restaurants and stores are very cozy. Here is also a lot to do, which is further mentioned.

My Journey in Zadar

Week 1 Highlights

This was a special week for me, I went abroad for the first time unaccompanied. The first two days at the internship didn't go very smoothly because we couldn't really do much, but now we always have something to do so the time goes by faster too.

But this blog is about Eurovision Song Contest, I had watched all the days. The only ones that I really liked were the Netherlands, Croatia and France. But then came the news that Joost Klein was not allowed to compete in the final. I've been a big fan of Joost for a while and definitely thought he was going to win, I've been keeping up with everything from the news about what Joost had done, the news from EBU wasn't much, and the rumors shouldn't be taken seriously.

Last night, news had come out that Joost had mentioned several times the week before his performance that he did not want to be filmed coming off-stage. However, the camerawoman did not listen to this and with the semi-final Joost made an aggressive move, but there was NO physical contact. I find this really unbelievable, the EBU should not be at Eurovision.

For the rest I really like it here, the prices are so low that I can do a bit more like at home. Just walking around the city is really wonderful, the people here are all very friendly. Too bad Croatia didn't win because then it would have been a good party on Saturday night, but Switzerland had a few more votes which made Croatia 2nd

week 2 update

We had gone swimming in the sea yesterday with everyone, there was a springboard of first 2 meters, then 4 meters and then 10 meters. As you probably feel coming, Willem and I jumped from the highest one. It felt like I was falling to my death for 8 seconds, but on camera, however, it was only 3 seconds. I did find it terrifying, but after doing it I felt very alive. I never had so much adrenaline as during the jump. We also had a ball lake, so we played in the water some more, but it was too salty to stay in it for long.

here is a image of the springboard...

Zadar

weekend 2 update

we went to Preko by boat and the out and back rip together were only 8 euros. We climbed a mountain there of 250 meters height and a distance of about 6 kilometers. It took a total of about 4 hours, then we went swimming in the sea. Then Jarne went into a sea urchin, but none of it seemed to be anything bad, and he was not in pain. In the evening, of course, we were all very hungry, so we went out to eat. On the way back Jarne started having more pain so we had to go to the hospital and at the hospital they had sent us on to the pharmacy. At the pharmacy, they had given an ointment and tweezers. But on the way back from the boat, we saw the most beautiful sunset of the 3 weeks internship.
